What is two factor authentication?

It is a security measure that adds an additional layer of protection to your account. It requires you to provide two forms of authentication before granting access to your account when a risk is detected. The first is your login password and the second is a verification code sent to your email address.

How does two factor authentication work?

If you attempt to login with your Daikin ID on a new device or enter a wrong password repeatedly, a verification code will be sent to your email address. You will need to enter the code within a specified time limit to complete the login process.

How to enable Two Factor Authentication?

You will be prompted to choose whether to Enable or Don't Enable the Two Factor Authentication the first time you login to your account.

How to update your security settings?

You can follow these steps to update your security settings:

Step 1: Go to the 'Me Area' in the Customer Portal.

Step 2: Click on My Profile.

Step 3: Click on Security Settings.

Step 4: Choose to Enable /Disable Two Factor Authentication.

 

 

Is two factor authentication using a verification code safe?

Two factor authentication using a verification code is generally considered safe. However, like all security measures, it is not foolproof. There is always a possibility that hackers can intercept the code or gain access to your email account. It is important to use strong passwords and keep your email account secure to minimize the risk of unauthorized access.

I lost access to my inbox, will I be able to login?

If you lose access to your inbox, you will not be able to receive the code required for two factor authentication. In this case, you should contact us to reset your account and update your email address.

Does two factor authentication work on multiple devices?

Yes, two factor authentication works on multiple devices. When loggin in on a new device you will be asked to verify your account. A code will be send to your email address that will be used for verification.

What to do if I get an invalid code error?

The verification codes are only valid for a short period. You can request a new code by clicking "Resend code" on the login screen.

I did not receive an email, what can I do?

If you don't see an email with a verification code in your inbox, please check your spam folder. You can also request a new code by clicking "Resend code" on the login screen. If you still did not recieve an email with, please contact us.

What does the verification email look like?

The verification email contains the verification code you need to verify your account. The email also contains some additional information on the location and device used to trigger the additional authentication. This is useful information in case someone else is trying to access your account.
